The Belgian media today shares some interesting news about the plans that Norwich City had for the current transfer window.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Canaries had been interested in bringing Standard Liege director Fergal Harkin to their board.
It’s said that the club chief had been offered the chance to join Norwich City this summer, and was actually interested in the project shown by the Championship side.
However, his departure was blocked by Pierre Locht, his superior on Standard Liege’s board, who was ‘opposed to his departure’.
It sounds like Norwich City didn’t then push further for the signing, with Tavolieri claiming that Harkin is now ‘fully involved’ in the Belgian side’s planning for the summer window.
It then remains unknown if Canaries, who have Ben Knapper as their sporting director, are still looking for a new man to help them with transfers this summer.
The report makes it sound like Norwich City’s approach was at the end of the season, so perhaps they could have a better chance to land him if doing that after the window.
