Nordin Amrabat has been popping up repeatedly in the European media over the past couple of weeks or so.
The Watford owned player is on loan at Leganes and with the Spanish club doing well in the Copa del Rey, there’s been a queue of people wanting to speak to him.
A week ago Amrabat was speaking to Spanish newspaper AS and was asked about a potential return to England during the January transfer window.
The 30 year old was happy to confirm his parent club had been in contact: “It’s true that Watford called me, called my representative and asked if I wanted to return. I told them I had come for a year. It wouldn’t have been nice to be here for only four months.”
Now speaking to another Spanish newspaper, Marca, Amrabat was asked a similar question, and again said Watford had tried to bring him back during the current transfer window: “They called me from England, but I made it clear that I was coming back in the summer.”
Enjoying his spell in Spain, even if he’s not quite as important to the Leganes team as he would have liked, Amrabat clearly hasn’t been up for a return.
