On November 14th, we covered a claim made in Italy that Brighton & Hove Albion have an interest in Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi.
Roberto De Zerbi knows the 23-year-old first from his time at the Serie A side.
Over a week ago, the Brighton manager admitted he didn’t do right by the midfielder at Sassuolo. The 43-year-old would now like to have him at The Amex so that he can have the opportunity to ‘correct’ the past mistake.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the Seagulls have ‘more money’ than other clubs that are showing interest.
It’s claimed the Premier League side would have ‘no rivals’ if the operation to sign Frattesi depended only on the economic factor.
Although De Zerbi wants to sign his former player and Brighton have better economic resources, Frattesi’s preference is clear, and it is to continue in Serie A. He has already revealed his desire to join AS Roma, while Napoli also remain in the background.
This would make it difficult for Brighton to bring Frattesi to England.
