On Friday there were claims in the British media Stoke City are set for talks to sign Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina.
The 23 year old has been linked with a move to England this summer, and along with Stoke City, West Ham and Watford have also been credited with interest in recent weeks.
Sky Sports reported yesterday that transfer talks between Juventus and Stoke City would take place in London on Friday. The estimated price for Stoke City was put at £13.5m, which would make one think the claims came from earlier Italian reports which costed a deal at €15m.
With Glenn Whelan leaving Stoke City for Aston Villa this summer, Mark Hughes could be in the market for a central midfielder, and Lemina may be an option.
On Friday, Sport Witness were able to confirm there’d been ‘no real progress’ on Lemina leaving Juventus, which was in response to West Ham claims. The same can be said for Stoke City, and the other clubs linked over the past 24 hours.
That’s not to say the Juventus midfielder won’t be playing in the Premier League next season, but reports from Friday seem to be premature.
