Last summer, several players from the European leagues made a switch to Saudi Arabia and that included Alex Telles, who joined Al Nassr from Manchester United.
Telles’ former Manchester United teammate, Victor Lindelöf, has been linked with a move to the Middle East in recent weeks. The Sweden international is currently with the national team and attended a press conference on Wednesday.
The Manchester United player was directly asked whether he would consider a move to Saudi Arabia and Sportbladet have relayed his comments.
Responding to that, he said: “Actually, I haven’t even thought about that. I may not feel that I’m there in my career, that I want to settle down and move away. I want to stay in Europe and continue playing at that level.”
The 29-year-old was in and out of Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup earlier in the season before the Red Devils manager started him in the last five matches, mainly as a left-back, instead of his preferred position in the heart of the back four.
Lindelöf has made 26 appearances, managing a goal and an assist in the process. Earlier this year, his contract at Old Trafford was extended until 2025, and the former Benfica man is looking forward to continuing with the Premier League side.
When discussing his future at Manchester United, Lindelöf explained: “But I’m happy at the club. I see no problem with staying and continuing to represent the club. That’s my mindset.”
