Leandro Trossard’s impressive form for Arsenal means he is making himself a guaranteed starter for Belgium moving forwards.
That’s according to Johan Boskamp, who believes that the forward is making it so that Domenico Tedesco will be unable to ignore him.
Trossard has been in fine form again for Arsenal this season despite once again finding himself playing more of an impact sub role under Mikel Arteta.
He continued his goalscoring form this week with a superb strike in the 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, which followed his winning goal against Everton in the Premier League last weekend.
He’s very much a key player for the Gunners at this point, even if that is not reflected in his starting time while the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka also shine.
It’s a similar case on the international scene, where he’s been a regular for Belgium but is yet to establish himself as the man for Tedesco, who has continued to rotate since replacing Roberto Martinez as manager.
That, though, could be about to change according to Boskamp, who believes Trossard’s performances for Arsenal will make him impossible to ignore for long.
“Well, I thought Ødegaard and Saka were even better against PSV,” he said.
“But Trossard kicked that ball in again wonderfully. That goal for the Red Devils clearly did him good.
“If he continues like this, he will always be in the starting line-up for the Red Devils. Then Tedesco will no longer be able to ignore him.”
