The agent of Aston Villa forward Evann Guessand has told the Turkish media his client will not leave in this transfer window. And he’s done so in pretty strong terms.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Beşiktaş as part of a deal to bring Tammy Abraham back to Villa Park.

Earlier this week we covered reports that Aston Villa were looking to use Guessand as part-payment to sign Abraham.

Currently on loan from AS Roma, Beşiktaş have an obligation to purchase Abraham for €13m once certain criteria has been met. The Black Eagles are now looking to sell the Englishman on for a fee in the region of €20m.

Guessand was offered to Beşiktaş on an 18-month loan deal, meanwhile Aston Villa offered a transfer fee on top of that for Abraham.

However, his agent has ruled out a move for the Ivory Coast international this month,  informing Ersin Albayrak his client will remain at Aston Villa.

“Guessand will definitely stay at Aston Villa. We have no intention of going anywhere, 10000%,” relayed the Turkish journalist.

The attacker arrived at Aston Villa for £30m in August, but has failed to get regular starts. This led to speculation he could be used in Villa’s attempts to sign Abraham from Beşiktaş.

With just Ollie Watkins as the only recognised senior centre forward, Unai Emery could look to bring in the 28-year-old.

Aston Villa remain in transfer talks

Transfer talks are ongoing to sign Abraham and there’s a confidence in Turkey an agreement can be reached. That said, there’s always transfer confidence in the Turkish media.

The former England international spent the 2018/19 season on loan with the Midlands side.

Guessand has made 19 appearances this season, scoring two goals. However, he’s made just six starts in the Premier League. This has been paused in recent weeks with the winger representing Ivory Coast at AFCON.

He’s contracted to Aston Villa until June 2019.
