Earlier this month, Bild stated Manchester United’s interest in Donyell Malen could lead to an exchange deal involving the Borussia Dortmund winger and Jadon Sancho. A day later, Christian Falk reported about a meeting to discuss the potential deal in the winter market.
Three days ago, Ruhr Nachrichten said Malen dreams of moving to England and would jump at the opportunity to join Manchester United next month.
BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl has put these claims regarding a swap deal with the Red Devils for the 24-year-old and Sancho.
Speaking to DAZN, relayed by Sky Deutschland, the Bundesliga side’s official made it clear they are not in talks with Manchester United for any sort of exchange deal involving Malen, therefore ruling out his arrival using that very specific formula.
“At the moment there is no exchange deal discussed or any interest in any player,” he said.
Sancho spent four years with the German club before joining Manchester United in 2021. He has struggled to replicate his Dortmund form at Old Trafford and has been left out of Erik ten Hag’s plans since September.
It’s been reported in the UK that the England international wants to leave Manchester United in January. With Kehl insisting BVB currently have no interest in Sancho, he may have to look for other options.
