Over the past week or so, there has been a lot of doubt surrounding Victor Lindelöf and his injury status.
Despite believing he was fit enough to play against Malta on Saturday after suffering a back issue with Manchester United during the Europa League game against AZ Alkmaar, the centre-back was left out by his manager Janne Andersson.
However, with Tuesday night’s fixture against Spain a far more important game, Lindelöf is now going to return to the starting XI, according to Aftonbladet.
The newspaper reveal as an exclusive that Andersson will be recalling the Manchester United man, and will also leave Alexander Isak on the bench despite his positive outing against Malta, leaving Robin Quaison and Marcus Berg to lead the line.
Considering Lindelöf missed United’s fixture against Newcastle United, which the Old Trafford side lost 1-0, there might have been hope down Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s end he could get his player back without him exerting himself too much, but this was bound to happen considering the fixture’s importance.
Manchester United fans will simply have to hope his back issue doesn’t pop up again against Sergio Busquets and co.
