On May 26th, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Everton have made contact over signing Arthur Melo in the summer window. The Toffees are still said to be keen on the Juventus player and are joined by Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the transfer chase.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who state Newcastle, Wolves and Everton are the 27-year-old’s admirers from the Premier League.
Arthur made 48 appearances during his loan spell at Fiorentina last season. He impressed for La Viola after a disappointing temporary stay at Liverpool during the 2022/23 season.
The Brazilian could return to the Premier League, where Newcastle, Wolves and Everton are all following him.
The report covers an Everton approach in recent weeks. Newcastle and Wolves have been added to the list of interested sides, without specifying if they have also been in touch.
Speaking to Rai2, relayed by Tuttosport, Arthur’s agent Federico Pastorello has said that he’s working on finding a new club for his client.
“Arthur is not in Juventus’ plans, that is a public fact. We are working hard to find the best solution after a brilliant season at Fiorentina, where he showed his qualities. We are talking to various clubs, there will be news in the next few weeks,” he said.
