Still in search of attacking reinforcements, there was a feeling that Newcastle United could go for a striker, but a winger is now also being considered.
This comes from Julien Maynard in France, who, through a video presenting information his own information for Téléfoot, reports of an interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby.
The French journalist says Newcastle ‘want to recruit’ the France international, but the Bundesliga side ‘have made it known they will not discuss for their French winger’.
It’s basically made clear that ‘barring a very big offer, Moussa Diaby will finish the season in Germany’.

What happens after that could be good news for Newcastle should they stay up in the Premier League, however, because Maynard explains that once the season is done, things could change.
It’s said Diaby could then ‘start discussions to grow, to continue his ascension in another club’.
We’ll have to wait and see if that can be Newcastle, but, for now, it seems the St James’ Park based team will need to look elsewhere.
