While Sporting start working on their summer signings, it’s becoming clear that Newcastle United’s move for Ousmane Diomande could help the Lions get their targets.
A fresh story on this situation is today shared by A Bola, who highlight that the Lisbon side are advancing to sign Zeno Debast from Anderlecht.
Sporting are keen on the Dutchman because they know they are expected to lose a centre-back in the summer, and that’s where Newcastle come in.
It’s said the Lions will do their best to keep Gonçalo Inácio, while Diomande, who’s chased by the Magpies, could have an ‘important role’ in the transfer window.
A Bola again states that even though the Ivorian has an €80m release clause, Sporting shall demand between €50m and €60m. That money would make them ‘comfortable’ to go after reinforcements.
Newcastle are ‘at the head’ of this race for Diomande, even though he’s said to have ‘many clubs interested’ in him.
The Lions plans seem ready, and with Debast’s arrival now sounding like a matter of time, the Magpies just need to put their offer on the table to get a deal done.
In our opinion, something like €45m plus €15m in potential bonuses would do the trick.
