According to a claim in the Italian media, Newcastle United are looking to close a deal for Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro.
The Italian has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Leicester City also interested in the player.
TMW report Newcastle United are ‘pressing’ for Sturaro and have tabled an offer in the region of €13m with Juventus. It’s been suggested the Serie A champions are holding out for €20m, but Newcastle United could land him with an improved offer of €15m to €16m.
Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is said to be an admirer of the player and the Magpies are looking to close a deal.
Leicester City are also reported to be in the race to sign Sturaro after reports this week they’ve also offered €13m for the central midfielder.
Leicester City are set for talks with Juventus, but, like Newcastle United, it’s been reported they would need to offer €20m.
