Newcastle United and Aston Villa have their eyes set on Eyüpspor goalkeeper Berke Özer.
On Tuesday, DHA reported Aston Villa are preparing to make an offer to sign him in the summer window. They also stated the Villans will continue to follow the 24-year-old, who is keen on making a switch to Villa Park.
Newcastle have joined Aston Villa in chasing the stopper if Ajansspor are to be believed.
The Turkish club signed the goalkeeper from Portimonense and immediately sent him on loan to Ümraniyespor.
He’s been the first choice since the start of last season and impressed for them. Özer has 11 clean sheets and conceded 30 goals from 29 games this season.
Eyüpspor’s next clash is against Adana Demirspor on Monday. The report explains that the Magpies will send a scout to Turkey to closely follow the stopper live in action.
If he were to impress the official, the report states Newcastle could initiate the process of securing his services in the summer window.
Nick Pope, Martin Dúbravka, Odysseas Vlachodimos and Mark Gillespie are currently the four goalkeepers available to Eddie Howe.
