Over the past few weeks, we have covered claims from Italy about Nico Gonzalez and his future at Fiorentina.
Recently, it was stated by Viola News that an offer for the Argentine was made by Newcastle United, and that the bid was put forward by intermediaries. No mention was made of the fee or Fiorentina’s intentions regarding a potential sale.
Today, there seems to be a positive slant – at least for Newcastle. La Nazione La Nazione state the Magpies’ offer is still very much on the table and Fiorentina want a fee of over €30m to sell the winger.
The report also mentions that more offers could be made in due course, but it is strongly suggested that Gonzalez’s sale will fund the potential arrival of Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson.
Corriere dello Sport also mention the potential sale of the Argentine and that brings more good news for Newcastle.
They report that La Viola owner Rocco Commisso would only have to sell an asset to sign more players and Gonzalez is a potential candidate to leave. Whether Newcastle move ahead with the signature remains to be seen.
