Inter Milan’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu is on the agenda of Newcastle United and Bayern Munich.

That’s according to Sport Mediaset, and they cover Newcastle’s interest in the midfielder and the Serie A side’s stance.

The Turkey international has been a regular for Inter when available for selection. Despite operating as a defensive midfielder, he’s managed six goals and three assists from 26 games this season.

Newcastle and Bayern Munich are following him as he’s ‘no longer untouchable’ at the San Siro.

The Bundesliga club had shown interest in the 31-year-old last summer and are still in the picture to sign him. They are now joined by the Magpies in the chase for the former AC Milan man.

Çalhanoğlu’s contract lasts until 2027, and the report states the Nerazzurri value him at €40m. They further add he ‘could pack his bags’ in the summer window.

If he were to leave, Inter would like to replace Çalhanoğlu with Torino’s Samuele Ricci.

Bayern have identified Çalhanoğlu as a target to replace Joshua Kimmich, who has less than six months left on his contract.

Sport Mediaset didn’t take into account of the latest claims from Germany that Bayern are advancing for Kimmich’s renewal. It’s not clear whether they will consider the Inter player if the German decides to stay.

Çalhanoğlu turned 31 years of age earlier this month and it remains to be seen whether Newcastle would be willing to invest €40m for him.
