RC Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov has ended up as a new transfer target for Newcastle United and Everton.
Lens star Kevin Danso was forced to miss 45 days between end of August to October due to heart problems. Khusanov took advantage of it to feature regularly and has impressed for the Ligue 1 side.
This has seen the 20-year-old retain his place even after Danso returned to the starting lineup against Saint-Étienne last weekend. At the same time, Newcastle and Everton have taken notice of his performances.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who provide their own updates on Newcastle and Everton, after relaying claims from elsewhere.
The centre-back has attracted attention from several English clubs, including the Magpies and Sean Dyche’s side.
It’s claimed the Premier League duo are monitoring the centre-back, who is ‘described as a monster’ by his teammates. The outlet adds the Uzbekistan international is seen as one of the greatest talents in the European football this season.
Khusanov joined Lens from Belarusian side FC Energetik-BGU Minsk for €100,000 in 2023. His contract lasts until 2027 and Jeunes Footeux claim the defender is valued around €25-30m by the French club.
If he were to continue to shine, Jeunes Footeux say they are confident clubs will knock on Lens’ door with an offer. In that case, the Ligue 1 side would be in the line to make huge profit, if they sell him for €25-30m.
