Four days ago, TuttoMercatoWeb stated Newcastle United are causing concern to Borssuia Dortmund in the race to sign Juventus’ Dean Huijsen.
The Premier League side’s interest in the 19-year-old is backed up by Bild in Germany.
The centre-back spent the second half of the season on loan at AS Roma and played 14 games for the Giallorossoi.
Dortmund have identified him as one of the main candidates to replace Mats Hummels. In fact, the report says they are ‘intensively looking’ to try and sign him in the summer window.
The Bundesliga side are ‘hot’ for the Spain U21 international, who is unlikely to continue at Juventus. BVB have to be wary of the competition from Newcastle as it’s claimed the Magpies have ‘strong interest’ in the centre-back.
Newcastle’s Sven Botman has been sidelined with a serious injury since March and is set to be out of action for most of this year.
Therefore, Bild say Eddie Howe’s side ‘need to take action’ and bring in a new centre-back in the next window.
With Newcastle keen on Hujisen, they could consider making an approach for him, and he ‘can leave’ Juve for €25m.
