After Rafael Benitez gave Newcastle United a kick up the behind this week with regard to transfers, the club have been making more serious efforts to get deals over the line.
Miguel Almiron looks a sure thing and in Portugal there’s been many reports about Newcastle’s efforts to negotiate a cut price deal for Benfica’s Andreas Samaris.
Benitez has also wanted to bring in a fullback before the window closes and after several other tracks failed, including a move for Lazio’s Jordan Lukaku, the Premier league club set their eyes on AS Monaco’s Antonio Barreca.
Gianluca Di Marzio has been reporting on the move and now says it’s all done, even ‘signed’, and it’s just a matter of waiting for the clubs involved to make official announcements.
