As you will have been aware of over the past few days, Newcastle United are having to sell Allan Saint-Maximin to help with FFP.
The French winger has been a fan favourite at St James’ Park, building a great bond with the Magpies fanbase, and many will be sad to see him leave.
That is, however, the reality Newcastle are facing, as he has agreed to move to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, according to L’Equipe.
The forward has ‘given his agreement’ to the club, and will undergo his medical on Friday to take what will be a big step towards leaving the north of England.
The Saudi club made an offer of €25m for the Frenchman in recent days, and while the player was seduced by the idea, he hadn’t given the green light.
He now has, clearly coming to terms with the fact that his time at Newcastle is over, and will team up with the likes of Edouard Bendy, Roberto Firmino, Ryad Boudebouz and soon Riyad Mahrez, who is on the verge of heading there from Manchester City.
