It appears that Allan Saint-Maximin is now one step closer from leaving Newcastle United this summer, according to RMC Sport.
The Frenchman was already said to have agreed a move to Saudi Arabia, where he would be joining Al-Ahli, after Eddie Howe made it clear the player would be one of the FFP casualties at St James’ Park.
Reports on Thursday stated the player could undergo his Newcastle exit medical as early as Friday, and that’s exactly what is happening.
RMC Sport report the forward is ‘currently undergoing his medical’ in London ahead of the move to Al-Ahli, where he will sign a three-year contract.
As for the money Newcastle are going to get, it’s stated the fee paid by the Saudi club would exceed €25m.
Despite Saint-Maximin currently having his medical, RMC state there should not be any official announcement about the transfer before the beginning of next week.
Arriving from OGC Nice in an €18m transfer back in 2019, the 26-year-old ended up making 124 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle, scoring 13 goals and assisting another 21.
