Monday has been a very active day when it comes to Nottingham Forest and Alexander Djiku, as the player was said to have received an offer from Steve Cooper’s side.
However, an update from Fussball Transfers claimed a decision had been made, and Fenerbahçe had reached an agreement with the player, leaving the Tricky Trees in their wake.
Well, that isn’t quite the case, as Foot Mercato provide another update on the situation, claiming that despite the Turkish side still being the ‘best placed’ to get the Ghana international’s signature, Nottingham Forest haven’t given up yet.
That’s because the Premier League side are ‘also on the case’, and have actually managed to get some positive talks going with the player’s agent.
Nottingham Forest, in fact, have ‘found an agreement’ for a contract of four years that would see Djiku move to City Ground if he decides on signing it.
However, the French website are keen to point out that Fenerbahçe ‘are still in the lead’ in the race for the centre-back, meaning there could be a need for a little bit more convincing from Steve Cooper’s side to get the free agent to change his mind.
