Everton forward Richarlison has finally got his first call up for the Brazilian national team this week.

The 21-year-old has been named by manager Tite to replace Pedro, who’s injured. The two players are good friends from their time together at Fluminense.

Website UOL has a very good story about it today, saying that Richarlison knew what he needed to do to be called up for Brazil.

As he’s been playing wide in England, the player knew he needed to be considered a better centre-forward to get a place in Brazil. So he needed to improve his finishing to be remembered by the national team manager. The goals missed by him last season were the reason for much criticism.

That’s why Richarlison has been training his finishing even before Tite called him up. And it seems it has worked, not only to play for Brazil, but also because he has three goals in three games for Everton this season.

UOL claims that Richarlison has been living in a place where he doesn’t have a good internet signal. That’s why it was difficult for him to respond to all the messages from family and friends when he got the call up.

He’s set to join the national team next Monday to face United States and El Salvador.
