For Tottenham fans wondering what the latest is in the Georges-Kevin Nkoudou saga (if you want to call it that), then the answer is ‘not a lot’.

As things stand, Saint-Etienne are yet to reach an agreement with Daniel Levy over the Frenchman’s transfer, and with just three days left in the Ligue 1 transfer window, there isn’t a lot of time to negotiate with the Spurs chairman.

Le Progrès, the local newspaper in the area, report on Tuesday that the French club would still very much like to bolster their attack with the Spurs’ man’s services before the end of the month, but they won’t do so in a way that would jeopardise their finances.

That means that either Daniel Levy is asking for Saint-Etienne to take on all of Nkoudou’s wages, which the Ligue 1 side won’t be doing, or they want some sort of ‘obligation’ to buy in the loan deal Jean-Louis Gasset’s team aren’t keen on.

It seems, after rejecting the opportunity to head to Mainz in Germany, the winger would prioritise a move back to France, but for that to happen, both teams need to agree on something.

As of yet, that hasn’t happened.
