Manchester United are yet to make an offer for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré, despite reports to the contrary.

That’s the slant from the Netherlands this afternoon after reports that United were progressing in talks over the PSV star.

Earlier today, we covered a claim that negotiations between Manchester United and PSV were advancing quickly over a deal for Sangaré. That report included the claim that there was positivity on all sides an agreement could be reached for €35-40m.

It seems, though, that was wide of the mark. Voetbal International insist that Manchester United ‘have not yet reported’ for Sangaré this summer.

They say that while his name is ‘circulating’ around Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag and co have ‘not yet come forward’ for the midfielder.

This is backed up by their journalist Marco Timmer, who says Manchester United have ‘not yet reported’ to his agent.

Eindhovens Dagblad go one further in their coverage of the claims, labelling them as ‘total nonsense’ according to those who are involved in the matter.

All three sources explain that Sangaré is waiting for the right club to come along and make a bid, but that has not yet happened.

That’s led to manager Ruud van Nistelrooy publicly claiming the player could stay, and there is even a new contract in the pipeline. The midfielder has also made it clear he would be happy to stay for another year unless a top offer arrives.

Whether Manchester United would fall into that bracket isn’t mentioned, but it seems, for now at least, they’re not making the moves that have been claimed.
