‘Negotiations very hot’ – Liverpool offer accepted on Tuesday, Reds have to agree deal with player

On Tuesday, Calciomercato.it reported Liverpool are set to challenge Barcelona in the race for Federico Chiesa. It was also said the English club have started contacts with Juventus.

Later that day, SportMediaset stated the Reds are ready to table their first bid of around €15m.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Liverpool and Barca continue to show interest in the 26-year-old.

There’s been verbal contact between the Merseyside club and the Old Lady, but there’s no information on the La Liga side’s efforts to sign the winger.

Juventus technical director Cristiano Giuntoli, his assistant Giuseppe Pompilio and head of scouting, Stefano Stefanelli, had a meeting with Chiesa’s agent Fali Ramadani on Tuesday.

TuttoMercatoWeb also report that the Turin club’s officials and the agent met for dinner on Tuesday to discuss Chiesa’s future. Their title says ‘Chiesa-Liverpool, the negotiations are very hot’.

Within the report, it’s claimed Liverpool ‘came forward with an offer of €15m’ on Tuesday.  Juve have given the ‘green light’, and the Reds now have to agree a deal with the Italy international.

Chiesa needs to find a solution, after Thiago Motta left him out of his plans. TMW say he’s open to joining Liverpool and also Barca, who are still in the picture to sign him.

Arne Slot’s side would have an easy route to sign Chiesa if Barcelona don’t respond with an offer quickly.

Juventus are confident of finding a solution for the player, and whether he’ll end up at Liverpool or Barca remains to be seen.
