Manchester City signed youngster Claudio Echeverri from River Plate in the middle of last season and he was loaned back to the Argentine club for a year.

As the result, the teenager moved to the Citizens in the January transfer window.

Echeverri is yet to make an appearance for Manchester City but it seems as if his development could take place elsewhere.

Corriere della Sera‘s Rome edition reports today that ‘negotiations are underway’ for the 19-year-old to be loaned out to Lazio in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The outlet states that the talent was in Rome yesterday and he was present in a restaurant that is very close to Lazio’s Formello training centre.

There is quite a bit of confidence that talks are ongoing for a temporary deal and there is no coincidence in Echeverri being seen at a restaurant in Rome. No more details have been provided about the potential transfer, which is presumably in the initial stages.

The Manchester City starlet played 48 times in all competitions for River Plate’s senior side, scoring four goals and assisting eight times.
