According to a claim in the Belgian media, two clubs are chasing Burnley forward Andreas Hountondji in this transfer window.

The 22-year-old only signed for the Championship side from Caen during the last summer transfer window but has struggled to get starts under Scott Parker.

DH Sports today report on the Burnley player’s situation, and they say he could move on this month. Both Standard Liege and Antwerp are reportedly in transfer talks to sign Hountondji, with ‘negotiations underway’.

It’s claimed Antwerp see the Burnley man as a potential replacement for Vincent Janssen and had tried to sign the player before his move to the English side.

Standard Liege also want to improve their attacking options, and it’s reported both Belgian clubs want to loan him for the remainder of the season.

The Belgian media outlet go on to say the player wants to get his future back on track and a transfer to the Jupiler League looks to be an option at this stage.

Hountondji has made just two starts in the Championship this season and is contracted to the eat Lancashire side until June 2028.
