Former Barcelona star Gerard Deulofeu hasn’t been playing regularly at Everton under Ronald Koeman this season.
In fact, the 22-year-old hasn’t featured at all for Everton in the past four league matches, despite the busy Christmas fixtures, which makes you wonder if he is in the long term plans of Koeman.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are keen on signing Deulofeu on loan, as they look for reinforcements in the January transfer market.
Gazzetta say Deulofeu has been on AC Milan’s radar for a long time, whilst the club’s CEO Adriano Galliani has been studying the contractual situation of the Spaniard.
It’s been reported negotiations are about to start soon, as AC Milan seek a ‘dry loan’ deal, which basically means there’s no conditions related to the loan and no obligation to make it permanent.
There is optimism at the Serie A club about a possible deal, but a ‘dry loan’ deal doesn’t make too much sense for Everton.
Yannick Bolasie is expected to be out for a long time, and the Spaniard isn’t believed to be on high wages, so there isn’t any urgency to offload him.
