Brendan Rodgers could be without Nicolas Kühn at Celtic next season as RB Leipzig have him on their list for the summer window.

The forward spent three years between 2015 and 2018 at the Bundesliga side’s academy. Four days ago, we covered claims from Germany which stated they are looking to bring him back to the club.

Leipzig are making progress in their efforts to sign the Celtic player and Kicker, relayed by Transfermarkt.de, provide the latest.

The German club are currently in discussions to bring the 25-year-old back to the club this summer. It’s stated negotiations are ‘now at an advanced stage’.

Kühn left Rapid Wien to join Brendan Rodgers’ side in January 2024 and has impressed at Celtic Park. He managed 24 goals and 18 assists from 69 games for Celtic, of which 21 goals and 15 assists are from last season.

His impressive performances have seen his market value increase from €2.5m to €12m over the past 12 months. The player’s contract lasts until 2029, and the report states the fee is likely to be ‘at least in line’ with his current valuation, ‘if not significantly higher’.
