Manchester United youngster Isak Hansen-Aarøen has revealed his friendship with Leeds United’s Leo Hjelde and Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb has helped him to adjust to life in England.

The 17-year-old joined the Red Devils from Norwegian side Tromsø IL in 2020 and signed his first professional contract with the Premier League side last summer.

Having represented both the United U18s and U23 side this season, the midfielder has made 19 appearances in all competitions, managing five assists in the process, but is yet to represent the Old Trafford club’s senior team.

At international level, Hansen-Aarøen has played for Norway U19s during the international break in October 2021, which was there he met the Leeds United defender and Manchester City’s young forward.

Dagbladet interviewed the midfielder and when talking about his adaption, he detailed how the two young players from Leeds United and Manchester City have had an impact on him.

“At the first [national team] gathering together, it was those two I hung out with the most. So, when we returned to England, it was very natural to continue hanging out. When we have days off or finish training early, we try to be together as much as possible,” Hansen-Aarøen said.

The Norwegian detailed how his close bonding with Leeds United’s Hjelde and the Manchester City teenager has helped him.

“It has helped me. Especially after we started being together as much as possible. After that, I do not feel that it is so stressful to go home to Norway,” he added.

On representing Manchester United, Hansen-Aarøen explained: “It sometimes comes up when I hang out with Leo and Bobb, that we actually live the dream of most young boys and girls in the world. It’s hard to get your head around it, but when you get to sit down and think, you actually realize how big it is.”
