Liverpool fans probably remember that earlier this week, Turkish website Fanatik, said the Reds had made a €5m offer for the Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi.
We’ve covered the Portuguese papers’ reaction at the time, as all of them were saying Porto wanted at least €7.7m to sell the player.
And this Thursday, A Bola are unsurprisingly claiming that Liverpool’s offer was rejected.
They don’t give much attention to it, as all the information is inside one paragraph, but say that the €5m bid from Liverpool for Indi was turned down.
That’s something very unusual. Portuguese newspapers normally make a big noise out of transfer rumours, especially when European giants are trying to take one of their players.
As A Bola doesn’t mention another source, they leave it to be understand the information is their own, which only makes things more weird.
We’ve had a little dig and found out there’s another Turkish website saying this bid was rejected. Ironically, the outlet is called “Bola” as well.
But Bola were only taking the claims from Fanatik, who had already said the bid wouldn’t be accepted.
So HITC reposted the information from Bola, and most probably, the English outlet is where A Bola’s article came from.
From Bola to A Bola, Fanatik‘s article is all you had to read.
