Ever since Erling Braut Håland scored a hattrick on his Champions League debut against Genk, the Red Bull Salzburg star has been regularly mentioned across various European publications.
Manchester United are one of the clubs that’s been constantly linked along with the list of other suitors, and that’s because he has scored 17 goals and managed five assists in 10 appearances this season.
The 19-year-old will make a trip to England next week to face Liverpool in his second Champions League clash. The Norway international is excited about the European fixture at Anfield.
“[Anfield has] best atmosphere in the world. I’m looking forward to playing there,” Håland told Omnisport, as quoted by Spox.
Salzburg’s clash against Jürgen Klopp’s side will see the teenager face Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, who was voted UEFA Player of the Year last month and came behind Barcelona’ Lionel Messi in the FIFA Best Player of the Year award.
Håland has warned his teammates they have to be at their best if Salzburg are to walk away from Liverpool with anything.
“It’s not possible to train for the game against Van Dijk, but you can work on things that might outsmart him or take him out of the game. But the whole Liverpool team is strong and we have to play as good as ever to have a chance,” he explained.
