On Thursday, we covered claims from Brazil that Flamengo are interested in Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso. It was also stated FC Porto are in advanced talks to sign the 21-year-old currently on loan at Ipswich Town.

A day later, O Jogo dismissed Porto’s interest in the Brighton midfielder for the summer window.

Bolavip Brasil now state the Brighton man is moving away from Flamengo and his ‘signing is unlikely to happen’.

They make it clear it’s their own information, without providing any explanation. Bolavip then relay claims from journalists Gabriel Reis, popularly known as Paparazzo RN and Bruno Castanha.

Reis and Castanha are reporting that the Brazilian club have identified Enciso’s Brighton teammate, Facundo Buonanotte, as the new target.

Last summer, the Seagulls sent the attacking midfielder on loan to Leicester City, and he managed five goals and three assists from 31 games for the Foxes.

Flamengo are looking for a young attacking midfielder and the 20-year-old Argentine can be an option for them. Their president, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, also known as Baz, gives director José Boto approval to try and sign Buonanotte.

It’s unclear whether Brighton or Buonanotte would be in favour of him joining Flamengo even on loan.
