Having failed to get a transfer sorted for either Moises Caicedo and Roméo Lavia, Liverpool are scrambling around for midfielders right now.
The approach for Wataru Endo is an indicator of where they are on their list of targets, but there is one name, other than Ryan Gravenberch, who could still excite the Anfield fanbase, and that’s Manu Koné.
The Borussia Mönchengladbach star has long been a target for Liverpool, and Bild claim he has not been forgotten.
An injury prevented him from receiving any serious interest for a while, but with the 22-year-old now very close to being back, there is a chance a last minute transfer could happen if all goes well.
Bild, in an article looking at Liverpool and their midfield pursuit, state that the Frenchman has become a ‘topic’ again at Anfield, and with him returning to training after a ‘long injury break’, he is ‘becoming interesting for top clubs again’.
That includes the Reds, who were in talks to sign him as early as June this summer before he suffered the issue to his knee.
Therefore, this could be the ideal lining of the stars for Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp, but we’ll have to see what happens between now and the end of the transfer window.
