With Jesse Marsch now sacked, Leeds United are looking for their next manager, with Feyenoord’s Arne Slot reportedly on the list of targets.
Whether they get him or another remains to be seen, but the Dutchman has started strongly with the Eredivisie side, which has clearly caught the eye of Victor Orta.
The Spanish director of football will be hard at work convincing many managers that the job at Leeds is a good one, but those already at clubs will be tougher to get, like Slot.
Still, should they manage to convince both the Dutchman and Feyenoord about a potential move to Elland Road, Jorrit Hendrix has given an insight of what the Leeds players could expect from him.
The midfielder was at Feyenoord when Slot took over, but quickly realised that he wouldn’t play much under him, which led him to find a quick escape route to Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Despite this, he has no hard feelings towards the manager, who he feels is extremely good at what he does, which is likely why Leeds are after him.
He told Voetbalzone: “He has a clear vision of the football he wants to play and can also convey that to the group. In addition, he wants to have control over everything, which Arne was very strong in tactically. He was able to expose certain points of the opposition, where the opportunities were, for example.”
