As you will be sorely aware by now, AS Roma want a new goalkeeper and Jorge Mendes is willing to transfer Rui Patrício away from Wolverhampton Wanderers to please José Mourinho.

That is, in essence, what Corriere dello Sport go with on Thursday, dedicating a whole page to the fact the agent is ‘working’ to bring the shot stopper to Rome.

It’s made clear that Tiago Pinto, the Serie A side’s general director, is teaming up with Mendes to get a deal done, both for Patrício coming in and Pau Lopez exiting.

It’s believed, as stated many times elsewhere, that the Wolves star would be available at a ‘reasonable’ price, one that would be ‘lower’ than the fees demanded by other clubs for their respective goalkeepers.

The likes of Juan Musso and Pierluigi Gollini are also being looked at, and both have a lot of Serie A experience, but it appears their price tags are a bit higher than what Roma would be able to get Patricio for.

While it would still be surprising to see Wolves part ways with such an important asset this summer, Nuno Espirito Santo’s exit could mark the beginning of some changes at Molineux, and since the goalkeeper only has one year left on his contract, this would be the best time to get some money for him.
