Jorge Mendes ‘could force’ Ansu Fati to join Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, if he can’t find another destination for his client.
That’s according to Sport, who cover the forward today and how Mendes is hard at work trying to find him a new club.
The newspaper explains that Brighton have decided against signing Fati on a permanent basis in the summer while Barcelona, his parent club, have made it clear he’s not a part of their plans moving forwards either.
Thus, Mendes has been set to work finding a solution and is ‘already moving’ to try and drum up interest in the forward, who was once considered the future at the Camp Nou.
There is interest in Spain, specifically from Valencia and Sevilla, the latter having tried to sign him on loan last summer before losing out to Brighton at the last minute.
Mendes is working on those potential operations and gathering information but if that doesn’t work out, Sport suggest he ‘could force a loan to Wolverhampton’ as an emergency solution.
The Portuguese agent is not quite as influential as he once was at Molineux but still has the likes of Pedro Neto, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Jose Sa and Nelson Semedo at the club.
Indeed, perhaps he could present him as an option to replace Neto, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Wolves this summer after shining under Gary O’Neil this season.
He’d have to convince Fati and his entourage, who believe the best thing would be a return to La Liga as they look to revalue the forward and get him back on track, but the idea is there, albeit as an emergency one for now.
