Walter Mazzarri is still settling in to England, but it has been quite smooth for his so far.
His team Watford are currently seventh in the standings. Watford’s 3-1 win over Manchester United in September has been the key highlight of their season so far.
Watford face a difficult away trip to Liverpool on Sunday, and Mazzarri has been speaking to Italian radio channel Radio Deejay (via FC Inter 1908).
Asked about Mourinho’s situation at Manchester United, Mazzarri said: “At Manchester United even Louis van Gaal didn’t do well. Probably, for a club so big a year isn’t enough to put it back on track, you have to have some patience to rebuild.
“I’ve always had a great relationship with him. I enjoyed beating Manchester United and is was a historic achievement.”
Mourinho wouldn’t mind the support from Mazzarri at this time, as the Manchester United manager is under a lot of criticism for his team’s performances.
Mazzarri also spoke about Watford’s upcoming match against Liverpool. The Italian manager pointed out that it promises to be an exciting fixture, as both the teams have been doing quite well.
Watford have a few difficult games coming up, and Mazzarri would certainly want his team to keep up the momentum starting against Liverpool on Sunday.
