On November 6th, Tipsbladet reported Chelsea are ‘crazy’ about FC Copenhagen’s Roony Bardghji.
Later that month, Copenhagen sporting director Peter Christiansen confirmed the winger has interest from several clubs and that they have to spend a lot to sign him.
Recent claims in the UK have stated Chelsea are looking at the 18-year-old. Denmark’s BT have relayed it and then provide their own information on this case.
It’s said the ‘interest from Chelsea should be massive’ as they have been following him for years.
The report claims talks for the player’s renewal have been postponed and the focus is on cashing in from his sale by next summer.
Copenhagen are hoping the Sweden U21 international’s sale can be a new club-record, surpassing the 150m kroner [€20.1m] earned from Victor Kristiansen’s move to Leicester City last January.
BT suggest it’s ‘not unthinkable’ for Bardghji to become the most expensive sale in the Danish league, a record currently held by Ernest Nuamah, who was sold to Lyon for 187m kroner [€25m] earlier this year.
Tottenham Hotspur are also named as another interested party. The potential bidding war between these two English clubs has seen Copenhagen rub their hands. Bardghji has been seen in London but BT say it’s not clear whether it has to do anything with a potential transfer.
Juventus like the Swede but the potential deal is made difficult because of Chelsea. That’s according to Tutto Juve, who state Mauricio Pochettino’s side are ‘in pole position’ in the transfer race.
It’s even claimed the west London club have ‘taken the most decisive steps’ to sign the talented winger.
