Tammy Abraham scored 27 goals in 53 matches for AS Roma and was considered to be a player the club would be set against selling.
So far this season he has four goals in 20 matches, and it would appear opinions at the Serie A club have been changing.
Calciomercato report Abraham has gone from being untransferable to being ‘on the market’. It’s stated Chelsea have an option to buy the player back for around €75m, but it’s not thought they’ll use that.
At the same time, Aston Villa are said to be ‘concrete’ with their interest.
The Birmingham club have been linked with multiple forwards since Unai Emery took over, and earlier today we covered claims from France that the manager is keen to secure Marcus Thuram in the January window.
Given his contract situation, Borussia Monchengladbach are thought to be willing to sell for €10m, but Aston Villa will face tough competition.
If they miss out, then Abraham could be an alternative. Calciomercato don’t provide an asking price, but there’s a good chance Roma will want more than the €40m they paid.
