Early on Monday, when reading the Spanish newspapers, we saw Super Deporte highlighting the form of Valencia youngster Javi Guerra.
The 20-year-old has been getting huge praise from the local media, who claim the hype around him isn’t just for the sake it, and is based on ‘reality’.
It turns out that just hours later, Spanish outlet Marca comes up to say that Manchester United and Newcastle United are interested in the player.
Even though Valencia are not playing in any European competition, it’s said there’s ‘very close monitoring’ from the Red Devils.
Manchester United are said to be one of the clubs who follow Guerra in ‘every game’, rating him as a ‘top player’.
And although the midfielder is currently protected by a €100m release clause, the English club believe he could actually be sold for less.
Valencia don’t seem to have set a price for his departure yet, as they’re actually very calm given they’re protected by that €100m.
Despite being a central midfielder, Guerra has three goals and one assist in six appearances. Now we wonder whether Manchester United would target him for the January transfer window or next summer, with the latter obviously being likelier.
