Now that his first season in charge of Manchester United is over, it’s time for Erik ten Hag to take stock of his squad and make some changes.
Multiple exits are expected this summer at Old Trafford, and there could some sort of mini-revolution as the Dutchman tries to slim down and improve his team all in one go.
One area that needs some work is in midfield, which is why an interest in Leon Goretzka, courtesy of Sky Germany, would make sense.
The news comes via their journalist Florian Plettenberg, who states that Manchester United are ‘monitoring his situation’, and they are aware that the German’s future is ‘uncertain’ because of the possible arrival of Declan Rice from West Ham.
However, it’s made clear there are ‘no concrete talks or negotiations yet’, with Goretzka ‘staying calm’ regarding it all.
In fact, he ‘definitely wants to stay’ at Bayern Munich if he can, and has the support of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who was recently appointed as a member of the supervisory board.
Something to keep an eye on.
