Earlier this week, claims from England stated Manchester United have offered cash plus Facundo Pellistri to sign Sporting’s Morten Hjulmand.
It was also claimed the Lions have turned down the proposal and are waiting for the Red Devils to trigger his £69m clause.
This is relayed by both A Bola and Correio da Manhã, who then give their take on the said offer from Manchester United.
A Bola have found out from the Portuguese club that they haven’t received any approach of any kind from Erik ten Hag’s side for the 24-year-old.
Sporting paid €18m to sign the Denmark international from Lecce last summer and he has been a fundamental player for them this season. His deal lasts until 2028 and includes an €80m release clause.
A Bola state the only way the midfielder can leave this month is by activating his clause, but, again, there’s been no sign of interest.
Thursday morning claims in the UK have stated Correio da Manhã have backed up the report from England about Manchester United’s first offer being by Sporting.
However, that isn’t true. CM simply cover what has been said in England and present it to a Portuguese audience, they do not make the claim themselves.
In short, there’s been no contact or offer from Manchester United to sign Hjulmand.
