On Tuesday, the news came out from both France and Germany that Benjamin Pavard would be looking for an exit from Bayern Munich this summer.
This led to a rush to try and find out where he could go next, and L’Equipe on Wednesday report that Manchester United are interested.
This is nothing new in itself, since the Red Devils have been linked for a long time now, but they seem to really want him.
That’s because the French newspaper claim Manchester United have placed the versatile defender ‘at the top of their list’ when it comes to signing a centre-back, having already taken ‘concrete steps’ to bring him this summer.
The news comes at a time when many in Italy believe the Old Trafford side will wrap up a deal for Kim Min-jae, with both him and Pavard rather different players.
As for the price Manchester United would have to pay, it’s said that his stock is ‘higher’ than it was four years ago when Bayern Munich bought him for €35m.
Therefore, we can expect the Bavarian side to ask for at least that, even if he has just the one year left on his current deal.
