Manchester United are set to insist on the signing of Atletico Madrid forward João Félix, according to claims from Spain.
Cadena Ser today writes that the player is back ‘on the mind’ of Red Devils’ chiefs, and it could be a ‘matter of weeks’ until the club make a new attempt for his transfer.
The outlet recalls that in the summer, Manchester United tried to sign Félix with a €120m offer, which was turned down by Atletico Madrid. The story, however, could be different in the January window.
It’s no secret the 23-year-old has been struggling at the La Liga side, but it’s said the Premier League club remain interested and could make this new effort, potentially at a lower figure.
With Manchester United also having Cristiano Ronaldo’s issue to solve, Cadena Ser says that in case the club legend leaves them, that could make Félix’s arrival easier. Especially because both Portuguese players are represented by agent Jorge Mendes.
This story continues to crop up in Spain, with repeat insistence an offer was made in the last summer window.
