Earlier today, we covered an interesting story from O Jogo regarding Manchester United’s interest in Benfica defender Antonio Silva.
There, it was said the Red Devils know everything about the player, and have been in touch with agency Gestifute regarding a potential summer transfer.
It turns out that newspaper Record also has a story on Silva, and despite focusing mostly on Bayern Munich’s interest, Manchester United are again mentioned.
It’s said the Red Devils sent scouts for the match between Benfica and Portimonense, and besides analysing the centre-back, they watched midfielder João Neves as well.
Manchester United are claimed to be interested in the duo for a ‘long time’, while the Eagles know they’re the two players who have been drawing big interest from European clubs.
In this specific story, the outlet highlights that Silva is also wanted by Bayern Munich, who have been watching his performances as well.
Silva is protected by a €100m release clause, while Neves’ is worth €120m.
It seems clear Benfica will have to let at least one of them go, with recent reports claiming their wish is to hold onto the midfielder over the defender.
