Manchester United have made great strides in their efforts to sign Jadon Sancho, more than a year after first identifying the Borussia Dortmund star as a transfer target.
The deal for the winger is yet to be made official, but the 21-year-old’s move to Old Trafford is ‘about to be completed’.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who add the two clubs have a broad agreement for the transfer.
It’s claimed the Red Devils will pay €85m for the England international, and only the ‘structure of payments remains to be finally negotiated’ between the two clubs.
Sancho’s sale is of great economic importance for the Bundesliga side, especially after they suffered financial losses due to the global pandemic.
Part of the money raised from his sale will be reinvested in finding his successor, and the candidates list includes both ‘well-known and rather unknown players’.
Sancho’s exit will leave a void in Dortmund’s squad and Sky explain his successor will be ‘revealed in the coming weeks’.
The attacker, for now, will have his immediate focus on England’s Euro 2020 clash against Germany later today.
