There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has rejected a transfer to Galatasaray.
The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to the Turkish champions in recent days as they look to bring in an experienced central midfielder before the Super Lig transfer window closes on the 13th September.
Turkiye Gazetesi have reported on the latest developments regarding Galatasaray’s pursuit of the Brazil international and they say the Super Lig side shook hands yesterday with Manchester United over a season long loan deal.
However, it’s reported Casemiro wasn’t convinced over a move to Istanbul as wants to remain in England and fight for a place in Erik ten Hag’s team. This will come as another blow for Gala, who throughout the summer have been trying to sign a defensive midfielder.
After his performance against Liverpool on Sunday the former Real Madrid man has come in for criticism. Casemiro was taken off at half time during his side’s 3-0 defeat and it’s expected he will be replaced in the No.6 position by recent signing Manuel Ugarte.
He’s contracted to the Red Devils until June 2026.
