As has already been reported a couple of times, Manchester United are interested in Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

The news originally came from France, and was then backed up by Bild in Germany, and now it’s Sky Germany’s turn to jump on the bandwagon.

This comes via Florian Plettenburg, who took to Twitter to report that Manchester United are indeed ‘seriously interested’ in a transfer ‘this winter’ for the Cameroon international.

It’s said that the Red Devils have ‘inquired about him’, and he’s a ‘candidate to replace’ Cristiano Ronaldo, who clearly isn’t having a great time at Old Trafford these days.

In fact, Plettenburg goes as far as saying that the Manchester United bosses ‘expect him to leave in the winter’, but there’s a twist.

The journalist then adds that the player ‘will stay’ at Bayern Munich, where he currently has 10 goals in 14 games this season, and there will also be ‘talks about a new contract’ after the World Cup.

So, it appears Manchester United are indeed keen on the 33-year-old to help their front line, and were eyeing up a potentially cheap deal in January.

That being said, it seems Bayern are keen to keep him around a while longer, and could give him the money he wants to stay in Bavaria.
